Vuna Award
Striving for serving our people with only the best had always been our goal. The Potchefstroom City Council is applying the knowledge
and the expertise of our local academic institutions in implementing government policies for fighting poverty and the provision of basic services to our people.

Batho Pele principles are our daily slogan in the transformation of humongous services rendered in this city, We are running our finances on sound foundations and this assists a lot in accomplishing more than we bargained for. Our community's commitment in paying for the services provided have been increasing monthly...

All these factors have assisted the Potchefstroom City Council in meeting all the requirements of being one of the best municipalities in the country. A proof is when we won the provincial leg of the Vuna Awards for Municipal Performance Excellence in 2003 in the North West Province.

This had encouraged us a lot that we strive for the national prize and unfortunately we missed it by inches. We are the best and we hope that this municipality will be counted up on the list in 2004.
