Policy Development

Numerous policies are in the process of being developed or revised and various policies have already been finalised after the community participation and policy-making cycle has been concluded.

The monitoring of the policy development and revision process is done on a daily basis.

Ward Committees and Community Liaison

An externally funded project is in place which will enhance the function and rejuvenation of ward committees in Council and which focuses on a transport system for members of ward committees as well the establishment of a central ward committee office.

The successful execution of this project as well as the overall obligation with regard to public participation is hampered by the vacancy of the Community Liaison Officer post. 

Training of ward committee members will take place in June 2006.
